中加教育教学

Over the past few weeks English 12 has been studying theme through the use of children’s books, while making a larger connection with travel, adventure and exploration. The carefully selected books have allowed students to develop a better understanding about the differences between various countries which are unlike their own. This unit has also taught students that when we are kind to one another and foster positive relationships, tasks that were previously difficult may become easier.

The children’s literature unit concluded by reading Stone Soup by Jon J. Muth. This story about three monks who travel to spread happiness around the world through cooking stone soup has allowed students to understand the power of relationships, happiness and community. The combination of these ideas led to the English 12 International Food Fair, which taught the power of community and working together. Students were able to collaborate to develop a poster, recipe card, presentation and finally a delicious food dish which resulted in positive team building by both staff and students who enjoyed the fair. I am so proud of all the work that the students did in completing this project.

在过去的几周中，中加国际班高三年级的加方英语课进行了主题研习活动，学生通过阅读旅游、探险和探索等主题的小说达成学习目标。这些精挑细选的读物使学生更好地理解了不同国家和文化之间的差异。通过这一单元的学习，学生能够懂得：当我们善待他人，发展并维护积极的人际关系，原本困难的事情都会变得简单起来。

少年文学这一单元以Jon J.Muth的小说Stone Soup结束。三个僧人周游世界，通过烹调“石头汤”向世人传递快乐与幸福的故事，使学生更深刻地体会到了人际关系、幸福和团队的强大力量。这些学习所得促成了中加高三年级“国际美食节”活动的举办。教师举办该活动的目的是为了让学生在活动中感受到了团队和协作的力量。他们可以合力完成海报制作、食谱卡、演讲展示等活动，并最终亲自烹制出一道美食。教师和学生都享受其中，体验了组建团队共事的乐趣。学生们在一系列活动中的表现着实令人为之感到骄傲。
